User roles and permissions
There are three user roles at Model-Prime.
- Read-Only Analyst
- Developer
- Admin
User roles are set up by your organization's administrator.
Note: It's possible to have more than one role enabled per user. Before onboarding a new user or editing an existing user's profile, we recommend confirming that the appropriate role is assigned to the user based on the desired permissions.
The read-only analyst role
Read-only analysts have the ability to read data, but they are unable to write data or update any existing data in their organization. When attempting to access a page or feature that they do not have access to, there will be a warning message to say that the action is forbidden.
Example permissions for read-only analysts:
- Read all intrinsic metadata
- For more information, see Intrinsic metadata.
- Read all extrinsic metadata
- For more information, see Extrinisic metadata.
The developer role
Developers have the ability to read data. They also have the ability to write data or update any existing data in their organization.
Example permissions for developers:
- Manually trigger ingest
- Administration of custom metadata fields
- Write access to extrinsic metadata values
The admin role
Admins have the ability to manage the organization's users and their roles.
Example permissions for admins:
- User administration
- Update storage configuration
- Administration of custom metadata fields
